Fish Farming
Rybnikarstvi Pohorelice a.s. rears fish in the favourable climatic conditions of south Moravia. The favourable climate has a positive impact on carp farming, and also makes it possible to rear thermophilic types of fish such as the grass carp, silverhead carp, bighead carp and sheat fish.
Rybnikarstvi Pohorelice a.s. focuses on the rearing of freshwater market fish. Our main production programme is carp farming. The firm also rears and supplies mainly grass carp, silverhead and bighead carp, tench, pike, sheat fish and zander to the market network.
Rybnikarstvi Pohorelice a.s. also supplies stock fry of all the aforementioned types of fish. The production of stock fry is influenced by demand and the production possibilities of the firm.
One other production programme is the farming of ornamental fish. This primarily involves the farming of coloured carp (Koi), coloured crucian carp, gold ide and gold tench. 
As a contribution to protection of the environment and the preservation of its diversity, the company is developing a programme for rearing endangered and rheophilic types of fish. This primarily involves the rearing of ide, common loach, nase and aspius aspius.
